Get Involved!
There are a variety of ways that people can get involved with
in the Cottonwood Creek Watershed Group. Please call Vieva Swearingen
at 347-6637 for more information.
Some of the specific needs that we have at this time are as
follows:
Office Help: We need filling, data entry, correspondence,
etc.
Help with the News Letter: We welcome guest writers
and help in distribution. If you have a story or an idea please
let us know.
Field Work: We welcome people who would like to help
with our field trips and conservation/restoration projects.
Whether you are an expert on watershed restoration work, or
you just want to get involved and work with kids, we would love
to have you.
Explore: We have a great deal of equipment, as well
as maps, and a lending library that you can borrow from. We
invite people to come in and familiarize themselves with the
watershed. We will even loan out waders and boots, along with
monitoring equipment if you want to go on an outing.
Use of Land: CCWG is constantly looking for landowners
in the watershed who will allow us to take field trips to their
property. This really expands our ability to get kids and adults
involved, and we may even reward you by doing some restoration
work.
There are various other ways you can help out, some of them
we have not even thought of yet, so if you have an idea please
let us know.
We are currently in the process of developing a monthly
bird watching walk. We will advertise to let everyone know
when we are getting started.
